TrailerWeights is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle data in our caravan weight compliance application.

Data Collection

TrailerWeights collects minimal data to provide its core functionality. Here's what we collect and how:

1. Local Storage Only

All caravan, car, and item data stays on your device. We do not transmit, store, or sync this data to any cloud servers. Your caravan configurations, weight calculations, and custom items remain private and under your control.

2. No Personal Information

TrailerWeights does not require or collect any personally identifiable information. No accounts, email addresses, names, or other identification is needed to use the app.

3. Google AdMob

For free users, TrailerWeights displays advertisements through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device information and advertising data for ad targeting and measurement. This collection only applies to free users and stops when you upgrade to premium.

4. Google Play Billing

When you make an in-app purchase to unlock premium features, Google Play Billing processes the transaction. Google handles all payment information securely according to their privacy policy.

5. Device Information

We collect basic technical information to ensure app compatibility and functionality:

• Operating system version (Android)
• App version
• Device model

This information is used solely for debugging, compatibility testing, and improving app performance.

Here's how TrailerWeights uses the data it collects:

Caravan Data

All caravan, vehicle, and item data you enter is used exclusively for:

• Weight calculations and load distribution analysis
• Legal compliance checking (UK, USA, Australia, France regulations)
• Weight management recommendations
• Local storage and retrieval on your device

User Preferences

Your preferences are stored locally and include:

• Region selection (UK/USA/Australia/France)
• Premium status (free or premium user)
• App settings and configurations

Advertisements

For free users only, Google AdMob uses collected data to:

• Display relevant advertisements
• Target ads based on interests and demographics
• Measure ad performance

Note: Premium users do not see advertisements and AdMob data collection does not apply.

In-App Purchases

Google Play Billing and Plugin.InAppBilling are used to:

• Process premium upgrade purchases

TrailerWeights integrates the following third-party services:

A plugin used for purchase processing and verification. Works in conjunction with Google Play Billing.

• AES-256 Encryption: Premium item lists are encrypted using industry-standard AES-256 encryption
• Local Storage: All data remains on your device, reducing exposure to network security risks
• No Cloud Sync: Your caravan data never leaves your device
• Secure Payments: All payment transactions are processed securely by Google Play

Your Privacy Rights

You have full control over your data:

• Data Access: All your data is stored locally and accessible only by you
• Data Deletion: Uninstalling the app permanently removes all locally stored data
• Opt-Out of Ads: Upgrade to premium to remove all advertisements and AdMob tracking
• No Accounts: Since no account is required, there's no need to request data deletion from servers

Children's Privacy

TrailerWeights is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted within the app and on this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
